Eastern Hokkaido has the most untouched nature and is full of wildlife filled adventure experiences. You can soak yourself in the volcanic natural environment created by Lake Kussharo, the largest caldera lake in Japan, and enjoy encountering its culture and community. While rowing down Kushiro river by canoe, you can see wildlife such as white-tailed eagle, red-crowned crane and Ezo red fox. You can also enjoy activities like trekking, horseback riding, learning the culture of Ainu and colonist who live with great wild nature.
We offer the premium tent experience where canoe docks right by the lake. You will stay in Akan Mashu National Park, the tent site of Wakoto Peninsula. Birds and sound of the wind will be your morning call. Free yourself deep into the wild and spend a premium time in the National Park.

Enjoy comfortable glamping inside the Denmark brand “NORDISK” with an interior design of Nordic at the Wakoto camp site in Akan-Mashu national park. We provide beds and amenities inside the tent. The tent site also has a community area where travellers can interact with each other. Meals are available in BBQ style by local food. Please enjoy your stay.
Most popular activity is canoe in this area. The water of Lake Kussharo and Kushiro river is crystal clear. You can enjoy the beautiful view while you are canoeing. We offer three type of canoe activity program guided by professhional canoe guides. We will also hold trekking and horse riding. If you want to fully enjoy nature of east Hokkaido, you should choose plus one activity except for canoe.
Please wear clothes that are easy to move in and can be dirty. The climate is mild, but the temperature is low at night. It is recommended to bring a fleece, chemical fiber or wool underwear that can help you stay warm. * Because the minimum temperature may become low, please be careful with your clothing.

Transfer service from the airport is generally not offered. Please consult with the staff if you have difficulty accessing by public transport.

Your stay will not be effected since we use tents that are resistant to rain.
However, cancellations for the activities will be decided depending on weather conditions. * If stormy weather such as typhoon is expected, we will contact you one week before the cancellation. Also, if there is an unavoidable natural disaster, activities may be canceled suddenly. Thank you for your understanding.
