Exclusive Glamping Experience

Our glamping site is located in the Teshikaga area of ​​Hokkaido, home to Japan’s largest caldera lake, Akan Mashu National Park, and Kawayu Onsen, which contains water with a high acidity due to the nearby Mt.Io (Mt. Sulfur) Akan Mashu National Park is the perfect area to enjoy canoeing, trekking, and glamping while taking in the considerable ambience of the surrounding nature.

Space within the glamping site is limited, so please inquire as soon as possible if you wish to reserve a spot.

There is nothing like waking up at first light to see the sunrise over Lake Kussharo.Whether you are on a weekend trip with your family or a couple looking to experience the great Japanese outdoors, you can go at your own pace with a night in our renowned Dutch Nordisk tents equipped with twin semi-double beds.All tents come equipped with a heater, so the great outdoors awaits those wishing to see the green of summer or the red leaves of fall.

In the evenings, enjoy a chat with other glampers or take in the magnificent views alone while barbecuing with fresh local ingredients.

All our glamping tents also come with a room reserved at the adjacent Kussharo Prince Hotel, so we can accommodate for families seeking a tent for some but a hotel room for others.

Exclusive Sauna Tent for Glamping Guests

Listening to the crackling of cold water hitting the tops of the sauna stones as steam fills the air is the perfect way to unwind after a long day. Afterwards, Spend some time relaxing in our exclusive sauna tent after a day immersed in the surrounding nature. cool down with a quick dip in the blue waters of Lake Kussharo.


Kussharo River Canoeing

Paddle your way down the tranquil Kushiro River surrounded by lush nature and look out for wild birds and animals as you make your way past marshes and forested riverbanks.Relax with a hot drink and snack aboard your canoe before navigating some river rapids suitable for beginners. Row as little or as much as you feel comfortable, your guide is there to help.

Mt. Io Trekking Tour

Literally called the “sulfur mountain” in Japanese, Mt. Io stands in stark contrast to the other mountains found in Japan due to its unique topography and pockets of yellow sulfur covering the surface of the mountain.Located between the scenic Lake Kussharo and the pure -blue Lake Mashu, a half-day trek up the side of Mt.Io is the perfect way to experience Hokkaido’s grand nature up close and personal.Whether you are a seasoned trekker or a causal adventurer, hiking on Mt. Io is a must for any traveler visiting East Hokkaido.

Rates are subject to change based on the day.Children 12 years old or younger stay half price when accompanied by a participating adult; children 6 years old or younger stay for free when accompanied by a participating adult.

If you wish for meals to be provided for a child under 6 years old, please let the staff at the Kussharo Prince Hotel know on the day.

Our glamping tents are designed to accommodate 2 adults. Up to 2 children, 12 years old or younger, can stay in the tent with their parents if sharing a bed or using a sleeping bag. Sleeping bags are available for rent. Children under 6 years old can stay in the same beds as participating adults.

Go To Travel Campaign and Associated Travel Subsidies

This trip is eligible for support via the “Go To Travel Campaign”. In lieu of applying to the government for financial subsidies, the services provided by the travel agency will be subsidized on the guest’s behalf. The amount of the subsidy will be deducted from The overall amount paid by the guest. In the event of a cancellation, the applicable cancellation fee will be calculated based on the full price of the tour before subsidies. Before applying, guests must acknowledge and accept the arrangements as noted here.

Please note that Go To Travel Campaign discounts are currently not available for residents of Tokyo.

Cancellation Policy

If the guest cancels their tour after the booking process is completed, the following cancellation fee will apply.In cases of multiple guests traveling together, if 1 guest cancels their trip, the applicable cancellation fee will apply for the remaining participants.

  • 21 or more days before = no charge
  • Between 20 and 8 days before = 20% of total tour price
  • Between 7 and 2 days before = 30% of total tour price
  • 1 day before = 40% of total tour price
  • Day of = 50% of total tour price
  • After arrival or no-show = 100% of the total tour price

Coronavirus Countermeasures

The following policies are being implemented in accordance with current coronavirus countermeasure guidelines.

During tours, guests and guides will practice proper hygiene techniques including frequent hand washing, gargling, and wearing masks that cover both the nose and mouth. (Masks may be removed at appropriate times during physical activities.)

All accommodations and dining facilities will practice the following measures: Frequent cleaning, sterilization, and ventilation of equipment and facilities, body temperature checks for all staff, wearing masks and faceguards, proper hand sanitization and gargling, and regular health checks.

Adherence to all current coronavirus countermeasures will be continuously monitored.
