wondertrunk & co. is passionate about sharing new perspectives on Japan with a global community of travelers.
We believe in the power of travel. We focus on creating itineraries and travel experiences that combine Japan’s must-see highlights with undiscovered destinations. By encouraging travelers to venture off the beaten path we hope to help preserve Japan’s rich cultural traditions, support local communities where travel can be regenerative, reduce over-tourism, and connect people from around the world in meaningful ways.
Who we are
Founded on July 8th 2016, we have grown from a small two-person office in Tokyo to a large international team with locations around the world.
Take and Wataru started wondertrunk & co, after working together in branding and advertising for 10 years. Over this decade, they discovered a common passion for travel and a shared belief in its ability to change the world. They felt there was a good deal of untapped potential in Japan’s tourism offerings, with most international travel centered on a handful of cities, so they decided to develop innovative travel experiences in lesser-known parts of the country.
Our mission is to meaningfully connect travelers with Japan’s regions, cultures, nature and people.
What we do
As a Destination Producer, we approach travel in a holistic way.
By combining Destination Marketing, Destination Management and Destination Development, we hope to create a more sustainable travel framework that encourages the pursuit of meaningful and transformational experiences in Japan, ultimately leading to new ways of being and engaging with the world.
