Explore the quiet town of Ōmori, the location of a 16th-century silver mine that once produced more than one third of the world’s annual silver yield. The mine has long since closed but the charming town remains, a postcard-perfect reminder of Japan’s past.

Move to the nearby harbor town of Yunotsu, where the silver extracted from Ōmori’s mines was once loaded onto boats for transport to locations around Japan and the world. Try your hand at a local handicraft before proceeding to the airport for an afternoon departure to your next destination.
